The system works by allowing the sensor to reach saturation at its designed maximum moisture level. When exposed to moisture above its operating range, the sensor stabilises and stops responding to further increases in water vapour. This controlled behaviour provides the reference point used for AutoCal verification.

Using AutoCal periodically helps to:

While AutoCal can be performed every few months if required, annual laboratory calibration against a certified reference standard is still recommended to maintain full traceability.
